The Taste of March

Can you believe we are really in March?
As the leaves on the trees begin to change colour it makes us want to 'warm' things up in our homes.  Redecorating does not have to cost a fortune.  An easy way to change with the season is to change your scatter cushions.  The Kas Factory Outlet has a great range of cushions in different colours and prints. Alternatively, grab some fabrics from Spotlight and either whip them up yourself (if you have a trusty Janome) or have your local seamstress make them.  You shouldn't have to pay more than $30 to have one made.

A throw over the corner your sofa is a great way to link your new cushions with your old colour scheme.
Things I am loving right now:
* Have you visited www.pinterest.com?  If you haven't it is worth a look. Beware....it is very
addictive!

* Rustic Coast (www.rusticcoast.com.au), is now making custom Kitchen Island Benches. Along with all her other pieces, they are stunning!

* Collect Home (www.collecthome.com.au) a new comer, but worth looking at. I am currently working on a house with my sister where we are using 2 x bamboo tables from Collect Home as a coffee table and having a piece of glass cut to sit on top of them.  I will let you know how it looks!

Summer is in the Air

Finally it looks like we are going to have a weekend in the high 20's...yeah!  Time to open up the house and spruce up your outdoor areas.  If things are looking a little drab - brighten up your outdoors with some great outdoor cushions. Sunnylife have a fantastic range.  You can buy on-line or check out their stockist list for a retailer near you.

My sister is currently painting her timber outdoor table in a bright white outdoor paint. It looks fab! Add some directors chairs at each end and a bench on the sides and you have a whole new look!

I love this look (although it is indoors) from an old European magazine my Mother-in-law had lying around.

Have a great weekend!

From styling your children, to styling your homes...

After almost 10 years designing children's clothes (Cocoon Clothing), I have packed the sewing machine away and moved on to styling rooms. It is only early days, but stay tuned...
